Grijalva Swearing-In Paves Way for Vote to Release Epstein Files

Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva was sworn into the House Wednesday, seven weeks after her election, as the chamber returned to vote to reopen the government.

Rep. Grijalva will become the decisive 218th signature on a bipartisan discharge petition to force a vote on releasing files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. President Donald Trump and Republican leaders oppose the long-awaited effort. Backers of the petition expect to force a floor vote by early December, according to Rules Committee ranking member Jim McGovern (D-Mass.).
