The Department of Homeland Security is eliminating advisory groups focused on artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure, and other areas including cybersecurity in the latest shakeup since President Donald Trump took office.
DHS announced Wednesday that it would terminate the Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security Board, the Cyber Investigations Advisory Board, and the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council, among others.
The department has relied on the groups to get expertise from industry leaders, privacy advocates, and others outside government. The agency framed the termination as an effort to reduce federal bureaucracy, in line with a February executive order.
