The Department of Homeland Security, long plagued by low morale, is the most improved large agency in an annual ranking of federal workplaces.
DHS notched a higher-than-usual score in a closely watched analysis released Monday by the Partnership for Public Service and Boston Consulting Group, though the agency still sits near the bottom of the rankings.
The improvement is still notable for an agency that’s struggled to keep its more than 260,000-person workforce happy since its creation after 9/11. Homeland security professionals have warned that morale problems can undermine DHS‘s security mission.
