Hospital and pharmacy groups, confronting legislation to require Medicare to pay hospitals the same as laboratories or doctors’ offices, are mobilizing to thwart what they say would cost them revenue and lead to service reductions.
The American Hospital Association spent $17.1 million on federal lobbying from January through September, quarterly lobbying disclosures show. The group has consistently opposed so-called site-neutral proposals, and last lobbied against these policies in 2020.
