House Ag Chief Leaves Door Open to Serving in Trump Cabinet

Agriculture Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson confirmed his name is being considered to be the next agriculture secretary, as top House GOP lawmakers hope the Trump administration refrains from yanking more members from their ranks.

“My name is being floated, which I’m very humbled by,” the Pennsylvania Republican said Tuesday in a hallway interview. The possible nomination was previously reported by E&E News. “That would be up to recommendations, obviously, by the transition team, and the president’s ultimate decision,” he said.
