The House returns from recess this week to consider its second fiscal 2027 appropriations bill, geothermal permitting and leasing changes, and measures targeting fraud in federal assistance programs.

The House Rules Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday to set debate terms on the Agriculture-FDA appropriations bill, plus three bills aimed at tightening oversight of education, childcare, and welfare programs. A simple majority would be required to pass those measures.
