The US House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday released a draft of its fiscal year 2027 defense authorization bill, which the panel is scheduled to consider June 4.
The proposal would authorize almost $1.09 trillion for the Defense Department and another $41.3 billion for national security activities at the Department of Energy. The panel does not address the $350 billion in mandatory spending that the Pentagon requested for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1.
