House Defense Authorization Bill Advances With F-35 Cuts (1)

A panel of House lawmakers voted 55-2 late Tuesday to advance key defense legislation that would authorize $848.2 billion in Defense Department funding—in line with levels requested by the Trump administration—and back cuts to the Air Force’s F-35 fighter jet program.

The House National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 3838) would direct $848.2 billion in Pentagon policy priorities, according to the committee bill text, as well as $34.4 billion for nuclear activities at the Energy Department.
