House Democrats will return to Washington next week — with or without votes scheduled.

According to two House Democratic lawmakers, Democratic members have been told to come back next week, even as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) signals he’ll continue to cancel votes amid the government shutdown.

Democrats will hold an in-person caucus meeting next Tuesday, following leadership’s urging to remain in their districts, meet with constituents, and hold town halls this week.
