House Ethics Panel Says It’s Up to Leaders to Speed Their Work

The House Ethics Committee would be “receptive” to changes to speed up investigations that have come under scrutiny for being slow, Chairman Michael Guest said Tuesday, but they would have to come from leadership.

“If leadership wishes to change the Ethics process and the fact of additional resources, additional jurisdiction, I think that is a decision for the speaker and the minority leader to make in conjunction with one another,” Guest said.
