The House Financial Services Committee will host a prediction market roundtable for Republicans on Wednesday, according to an invite sent to GOP committee members’ staff and obtained by Bloomberg Government.
The roundtable comes as Congress weighs how far it should go to address lawmakers using their positions for financial gain. The Senate agreed unanimously to amend the chamber’s standing rules to prohibit senators and their staff from engaging in prediction markets. Similar legislation is stalled in the House.
