House GOP Plans to Vote Next Week on Amended Housing Legislation

The House will vote next week on an amended affordable housing bill, a House GOP leadership aide confirmed, continuing the monthslong battle with the Senate over competing versions of legislation that’s a top priority for congressional leaders and President Donald Trump.

GOP leadership and Republican members of the Financial Services Committee said this week they planned to still move forward with altering the Senate-passed housing bill (H.R. 6644 ; BGOV Bill Analysis) despite Trump urging swift passage of the Senate’s legislation.
