The House Ways and Means Committee is tentatively planning to mark up its portion of Republican’s sweeping reconciliation package next Tuesday at 2 p.m., according to a person familiar with the planning.
Republican tax writers are currently meeting to discuss final language on legislation to permanently extend President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and implement other parts of his tax agenda, including no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security.
Lawmakers also are working to resolve the cap on the state and local tax deduction as Republicans from high-tax states demand a significant raise from the current $10,000 limit.
