House Republicans advanced a $157 billion bill funding military construction projects and the Department of Veterans Affairs on Tuesday as lawmakers look to make headway into government funding.
The House Appropriations Committee voted unanimously 58-0 to advance the Military Construction-VA bill, the first of twelve annual spending bills that House Republicans aim to finish writing by the end of June. The Military Construction-VA bill is considered to be one of the least controversial funding bills to negotiate.
