Lawmakers will move to the next step of negotiating a $1.5 trillion farm bill after the House Agriculture Committee revealed its draft bill text Friday.
The 942-page draft bill is set to shape the next five years of agriculture and food policy. Lawmakers now must sift through the lengthy document, which contains funding programs ranging from nutrition assistance to conservation efforts, as they prepare for the panel’s May 23 markup.
