House Republicans Aim to Advance Farm Bill by End of April

House lawmakers are gearing up for a possible floor vote on the farm bill in the last week of April, according to a Thursday notice posted by the chamber’s Rules Committee.

Legislation must clear that panel before a full chamber vote. Rules Committee Chair Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) instructed lawmakers to submit amendments to the package (H.R. 7567) by April 22 and said the panel “may meet the week of April 27" to tee up floor consideration of the long-stalled bill.
