House Republicans Deploy Duffy to Warn of More Airport Chaos (1)

The government shutdown is likely to result in growing disorder at the nation’s airports, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned Thursday, speaking alongside House Republican leaders.

“I can’t guarantee that your flight is going to be on time. I can’t guarantee that your flight’s not going to be canceled. It’s going to depend on our air traffic controllers coming in to work every single day,” Duffy said at a Capitol press conference.

Republicans accused Democrats of using air traffic controllers as political pawns in the funding standoff, which Democrats say is necessary to safeguard Americans from spikes in health insurance costs. ...
