House Republicans want to bolster agriculture trade opportunities for US farmers, find new sources for conservation funding, and limit “arbitrarily” changing SNAP food aid, according to a new summary of key provisions in the farm bill.

The head of the House Agriculture Committee is aiming to consider the long-stalled farm bill, a necessary extension of federal programs, on May 23. The five-page summary Chairman GT Thompson‘s office shared with Bloomberg Government is light on policy details but outlines where the Pennsylvania Republican stands on key issues.
