House staffers are being officially informed they will not get a paycheck Friday as the government shutdown nears a full month.
The information was included in an email from the Chief Administrative Officer’s Office of Payroll and Benefits to the chamber’s employees Wednesday.
The notice to all House staff, reviewed by Bloomberg Government, warned the scheduled Friday pay date “will be delayed until after funding is enacted.” This will be House staffers’ first missed paycheck, since the chamber operates on a monthly pay schedule. Senate aides missed their first, twice-per-month paycheck earlier this month.
