Housing Affordability Bill Set for Senate Vote Soon, Thune Says

The Senate will move to consider legislation to increase the supply of affordable housing as soon as this week, Majority Leader John Thune said Wednesday.

Senators have been looking to advance the bipartisan ROAD to Housing Act, legislation aimed at lowering housing costs, which the Senate passed in the annual defense policy bill last year before it was later stripped out. Senators have been under increased pressure to act since the House passed its own affordable housing bill (H.R. 6644; BGOV Bill Analysis).
