How the Senate’s Marathon Vote-a-Rama Stacks Up with History

The Senate’s more than 26-hour vote-a-rama to pass President Donald Trump’s tax and spending package is among the longest in the chamber’s history — both in length and votes.

The Senate held 49 votes — six of which were voice votes — during the marathon vote-a-rama, where senators can offer an unlimited number of amendments, that spanned Monday and Tuesday. The record is 44 roll call votes during a budget resolution in 2008, according to Senate records.
