The Environmental Protection Agency and Interior Department would be spared deep funding cuts sought by Trump administration in fiscal 2026 under a bill released by appropriators Monday.
The bill would provide $8.8 billion for the EPA, nearly 4% below the current enacted level — a less drastic reduction than what the administration requested. Interior would receive $14.5 billion, including $3.3 billion for the National Park Service, under the bill a bipartisan panel of appropriators agreed on.
