Interior’s Burgum Echoes House, Trump Critical Mineral Moves (1)

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum told mining companies Tuesday the US is open for business when it comes to increasing domestic extraction and processing of critical minerals.

In remarks at a critical minerals supply forum in Washington, Burgum alluded to previous administrations that didn’t want to “cut a tree” or “mine for minerals” or do “oil and gas.” He said those policies have tied up the country’s natural resources and stymied innovation at a time when China is dominating the global market on critical minerals and rare earths.
