International Aid Programs Avoid Deep Cuts in Funding Bill (1)

Appropriators rejected several of President Donald Trump’s proposed cuts to international aid programs under a bipartisan funding bill released Sunday.

The National Security and Department of State bill would continue to fund several State Department programs that the Trump administration and its DOGE initiative sought to cut.

The bill would provide $50 billion for the State Department and other related programs, $19 billion above Trump’s fiscal 2026 budget request, according to a summary released by House Appropriations ranking member Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.).
