Israel’s Iron Dome Is a Lesson for Trump’s Anti-Missile Shield

Space became a new frontier in the war in Gaza one month into the conflict, when Houthis fired an Iranian-designed ballistic missile toward the southern tip of Israel. The country’s defenses had about ten minutes from launch to the expected impact in Eilat, over 1,100 miles away.

The rocket never made it that far. As it was traveling above the Kármán Line that marks the border of outer space, an interceptor missile smashed into it, one of the first times a hostile projectile has ever been destroyed beyond the planet’s atmosphere.
