Jeffries Fails to Flip Top Maryland Senator on New District Map

The Democratic leader of the Maryland Senate remains opposed to a new congressional map targeting the state’s only Republican in Washington, even after US House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) visited Annapolis in an effort to change his mind Wednesday.

Jeffries told reporters he sat down with Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson (D) to talk about a proposed map that could elect Democrats in all of the state’s eight congressional districts and oust Rep.
