Johnson Slams ‘Frivolous’ Democratic Lawsuit Filed Over Food Aid

Speaker Mike Johnson doubled down on the Trump administration’s position against paying out food aid benefits starting Saturday, blaming Democrats and accusing them of knowingly filing a “frivolous” lawsuit.

“They know they’re going to lose, but they also know it’ll take many weeks or months to have that ultimately determined by a court,” Johnson (R-La.) told reporters at a press conference in the Capitol with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on Friday.
