Johnson Still Building Republican Consensus for Next Border Bill

House Speaker Mike Johnson hasn’t committed to bringing fresh border and immigration legislation to the House floor as key committee leaders begin work on a package to lock in President Donald Trump’s policies.

Johnson, in an exclusive interview with Bloomberg on Wednesday, said Republicans are still discussing how to move forward, and it’s too soon to game out a path for a bill that would overhaul the US immigration system.
