Judge Extends Halt on Trump Firing Whistleblower Agency Head (1)

A federal judge extended a temporary order blocking President Donald Trump from firing the head of an independent US agency that protects government whistleblowers, even as the White House aims to get the case on a fast-track to the Supreme Court.

US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Wednesday extended a temporary restraining order to block the firing of Hampton Dellinger, who leads the Office of Special Counsel, through March 1. The so-called TRO was set to expire at midnight, and Jackson is still working on a final decision in the case.
