K Street Begins Pivot to Midterms While Keeping Up AI Lobbying

President Donald Trump’s tariffs, trade and geopolitical turmoil, and artificial intelligence fights fueled K Street this year, as lobbyists and corporate America plot their strategies with the midterm races signaling change ahead.

General Motors Co. and Meta Platforms Inc. spent the most of any companies on federal lobbying, with the automaker shelling out more in the first quarter than it had in any previous period, new disclosures show. America’s Health Insurance Plans, representing an industry under attack from Trump, also posted a record spend in Q1.
