Key Senate Republican Wants Health Workers’ Visa Fee Exemption

A leading Republican appropriator said she would support exempting health care workers from a new hefty fee the administration is levying on certain work visas.

Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), who chairs the Senate Appropriations health subcommittee, said she is hearing concerns from hospitals and would support a carve out.
