President Donald Trump’s ability to command almost complete loyalty so far from Republican senators on his top tier nominees will be tested as the chamber moves on to weighing lower-level picks in the coming weeks.
These nominees, while not Cabinet level, would still oversee highly visible services including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and the Federal Aviation Administration, all of which have been the target of administration scrutiny.
