Lawler Blasts New York Democrats’ Redistricting Amendment Plans

Rep. Mike Lawler accused New York Democrats of political corruption as state lawmakers plan to advance at least two constitutional amendments this week to change how the state redraws its maps.

Lawler (R-N.Y.) refused to blame President Donald Trump for initiating the nationwide redistricting frenzy in red states during a Monday press conference at the state Capitol, while saying he’s been consistent in criticizing Republicans in Texas who altered their maps in 2025 at Trump’s behest.
