Rep. Michael Lawler is joining Democrats in pushing the Trump administration to abandon its $18 billion threat to infrastructure funding for the New York City area amid the federal government shutdown.
“My objective is to get the situation resolved and get the funding back so that is what I’m working on and what I’m focused on,” Lawler, a Republican who represents a district in the northern New York City suburbs, said in a Thursday interview.
