Low-income households receiving federal help with their energy bills will have enough money at least until the end of February, even if there’s a partial government shutdown after Jan. 30.
“Funds will not be delayed,” said Mark Wolfe, executive director at the National Energy Assistance Directors Association, citing the $3.7 billion in advance funding for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program the government disbursed to recipients after the last shutdown ended in November 2025.
