Maine Democrat Golden May Draw More Progressive Primary Opponent

Rep. Jared Golden, a party-bucking Democrat from a Maine district that voted for President Donald Trump, may draw a 2026 primary challenge from a more progressive officeholder.

Maine Auditor Matt Dunlap (D) could be moving closer to opposing Golden after a “Dunlap for Congress” political organization was formed this week, according to a filing with the Internal Revenue Service.
