Maine Republican Collins Announces Bid for Sixth Senate Term

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins of Maine, the only Republican senator from a state President Donald Trump lost in the 2024 election, formally announced her bid for a sixth term in a race that will help determine control of the chamber in the November election.

Collins, the longest-serving Republican woman in Senate history, declared “I’m running” in a brief social-media video Tuesday that showed her opening a box of New Balance running shoes.
