Maryland Congressional Redraw Advances Toward State Senate Hitch

Maryland’s Democratic House of Delegates passed a new congressional map to oust the state’s only Republican in Congress and sent it to the state Senate, where that chamber’s top-ranking member opposes it.

The House on Monday voted 99-37 for the map proposal, which favors Democrats in all eight House districts and overhauls the constituency of Rep. Andy Harris (R), the House Freedom Caucus chair who represents Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
