Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is likely to avoid political repercussions after failing to convince the legislature to redraw congressional maps to oust the state’s only Republican.
The Democratic state Senate’s decision not to act on a push from Moore (D) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) to redraw lines comes as the candidate qualifying period for the state’s June 23 primary ended Tuesday.
