Mayorkas Agrees to Defend Record in His Own Impeachment Case (1)

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will appear before the House committee trying to impeach him, his team told lawmakers Thursday in a letter first obtained by Bloomberg Government.

The Department of Homeland Security said the secretary “will make himself available” to appear before the Homeland Security Committee but spurned GOP demands that he show up next Thursday, saying DHS would instead work with the panel to schedule a time.
