Microsoft Gets Path to Return Copilot to US House Staffers (1)

US House staffers may regain access to a more secure version of Microsoft Corp.‘s Copilot after senior officials prohibited use of the AI product’s commercial version because of data privacy concerns.

House Chief Administrative Officer Catherine Szpindor told staff on Wednesday of a planned review of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence interface geared toward government employees’ heightened security and compliance standard.

Szpindor on Friday had the commercial version of Copilot removed and blocked from all House Windows devices due to the risk of leaking the legislative body’s data to unauthorized cloud services.
