Moderates Float One-Year Extension for Obamacare Tax Credits (1)

Nearly 40 House members introduced a measure Wednesday to extend enhancements to Obamacare premium subsidies for one year with an income cap—adding to the plethora of proposals attempting to prevent a spike in premium payments.

The bill, introduced by Reps. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), is based on a framework the group unveiled last week. The proposal extends boosts to the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits for another two years but starts to phase out these credits for individuals making more than 600% of the federal poverty level.
