Ja’Ron Smith, a former aide to congressional Republicans who also worked in the Trump administration, will join the all-GOP lobbying and communications firm CGCN Group as its first Black partner next week.
Smith, who has been a partner at Dentons Global Advisors Government Relations, plans to bring clients with him including the American Property Owners Alliance and the Reform Alliance Fund, which focuses on criminal justice overhaul. He will also work for the firm’s existing clients including the American Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, a startup billed as a competitor to the US Chamber of Commerce.
