Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin will testify before the House Homeland Security Committee next week.
The planned hearing on June 3, Mullin’s first since confirmation, will focus on fiscal 2027 funding, according to a committee spokesperson. It comes after a separate appropriations hearing Mullin was expected to appear at last week was delayed.
Mullin is expected to face questions about large-scale immigrant detention facilities, lawmakers’ access to those centers, and recent tensions surrounding congressional oversight visits.
