Republican governors and state lawmakers are harnessing the attention on President-elect Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency to launch initiatives paring back their own spending.
Governors in Iowa, Louisiana, and New Hampshire have announced initiatives to tighten budgets and streamline government. Legislators in Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, and Wisconsin have created committees with similar goals.
