New Maps, Bids for Other Office Affect House Races: BGOV OnPoint

The House districts that will be in play in the 2026 primaries and general election will become a little clearer this summer as more incumbents disclose their political plans and Texas redraws its congressional map.

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), who said this week he’s running for governor, and Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.), who disclosed his plans to run for Senate, make more than a dozen House members who are leaving open their seats to run for higher office statewide.
