New York Democratic legislators unveiled new congressional district lines Tuesday that could boost their party’s prospects for regaining control of the US House.
They introduced a proposed map that would imperil first-term Rep. Brandon Williams (R) while bolstering Tom Suozzi (D), who’s about to be sworn in to succeed ex-Rep. George Santos (R).
Suozzi’s special-election victory brought Democrats within four seats of a majority and magnified appetites in Albany to use the line-drawing process to increase the party’s chances in November.
