California Democrats are pressing Gov. Gavin Newsom to revise his budget plans to prevent Medicaid cuts to immigrants imposed by the Trump administration.
A draft budget Newsom (D) released Jan. 9 incorporates new rules from President Donald Trump’s tax-and-spending measure that end nearly all Medicaid coverage for refugees, those who have been granted asylum, and others who are not citizens but have legal status that has previously qualified them for health care coverage.
