Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is trying to ensure the Transportation Security Administration can never unionize again after gutting workers’ collective bargaining rights.
Noem outlined the breadth of her opposition to TSA workforce organizing in a Feb. 27 memo obtained by Bloomberg Government that underpins a Friday announcement blocking bargaining for transportation security officers, the personnel who screen passengers at airport checkpoints.
