NY Gov. Hochul Signs Bill Requiring Social Media Warning Labels

Social media companies must warn users about how the platforms can threaten their mental and physical health under a law signed on Friday by New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The Empire State follows Minnesota and Colorado in enacting legislation that curbs how companies such as TikTok Inc., Meta Platforms Inc., and Google LLC use likes, push notifications, and other features to maximize engagement.
